The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to take mopping off their to-do list. Some of them have excellent mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best automatic vacuum cleaner navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one motion. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as good. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like broken toys and books.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't create the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to set up and works well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum cleaner uk vacuum to mop it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device has a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning that's also fairly quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen the smell.
Another noteworthy feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
It's expensive, however it has many useful features. It is important to note, however, that the device will incur recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. These include a power button that serves as a general "Clean button as well as a Home button that sends it back to its base station after completing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or just want an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to shield specific areas of your home from being swept with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting hair from pets. It was able to collect many of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to signal that it was starting and working towards its goal.
The biggest flaws were its simplistic app and the requirement to switch out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some unique features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock, which serves as the robot vacuum cleaners uk's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.
The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognizing objects.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't a big deal apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
