It was a bit shaky when it came across longer-pile carpets, and some long, thick piles of dried-on debris.

Like most robots that are available, the S1 Pro comes ready to take off from the box and needs only an initial mapping session to figure out how it can navigate your home. The map will be displayed in the app and you can add or join rooms as you need to. You can also set virtual boundaries as well as no-go zones if there's something you don't want the robot vacuum cleaners best to touch.

The S1 Pro does a great job of cleaning up spills from hard floors, thanks to its rotating mop head, which puts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor.
